Varndean School requires an enthusiastic, committed and outstanding Director of Music.

At Varndean we believe that arts education is a right more than a luxury. Our ambition is that every student in key stage 3 has access to and tuition in a musical instrument supporting excellent musical progression.  Students will have the widest opportunities to take part in ensembles, groups, choirs and orchestras. You will have had significant experience in whole school music provision and curriculum excellence.

Our aspirations are high and your entrepreneurial musical skills, drive and leadership will be evident in the high quality work that you have undertaken with young people. Varndean plays a strategic role within Sound City, Brighton and Hove's Award winning music hub and Pavilion and Downs Teaching School Alliance and the successful candidate will take a role in this growing area of work.
